Sweetheart Shopper
Create and sew a fun bag today!
Sew up your own adorable "Granny Bag" style tote with this fun and easy sewing pattern. This bag works great as an every day bag or as a petite shopping bag. The wide mouth stays open easily for quick access to the inside. Keep it closed when necessary with a loop and button and the pattern includes detailed instructions for one zippered interior pocket so you'll have somewhere secure for your keys and wallet.
A set of box pleats along the bottom give it depth and creates a nice base for the bag to sit upright.
To make this bag you will need:
½ yard focus fabric (exterior fabric)
½ yard lining fabric
¼ yard fabric for straps and trim
½ yard interfacing
7" all-purpose coil zipper
8" elastic piece or ribbon
One button
Ruler and/or yardstick
Fabric marking pen or tailors chalk
Pattern includes detailed instructions and the pattern piece for the main bag. You will need to use your ruler and/or yardstick to create the top trim pieces, straps and pocket square. The main pattern piece does require taping the top and bottom together as it is too large to print on one page.
Finished bag measures:
15" at widest point across bottom
9-10" tall when seated
4.5" deep
7" zippered pocket
24" straps
8 pages of instructions, 18 photos and 2 diagrams.
